This balancer is different than the 360 balancer shown on the blue engine below this is a neutral or zero balanced torque converter. Basically its just a stock converter for the 904 transmission. I have swapped many flexplates out on internally balanced engines without issue. Optimally you can try to spin balance a new flexplate to make sure it is neutral, but I have never checked any.
