WebOct 4, 2024 · Cryptococcal meningitis (CM) is the most common form of adult meningitis in regions with a high prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. However, the occurrence of CM in immunocompetent individuals is very rare. WebCryptococcal meningitis rarely occurs in apparently immunocompetent individuals. The diagnosis is often delayed because of non-specific symptoms. We hereby report a case of cryptococcal meningitis in an immunocompetent adolescent female. The symptomatology, diagnosis and treatment of the disease are discussed. CASE REPORT
